If you already have an estate plan in place we can review it for you to make sure it works the way you expect it to and says everything you want it to. This review is very helpful and also includes and explanation to the client of terms and provisions they may not understand (without having to worry about billable hours) to give you clarity and peace of mind. FAQ: 1. Does the Estate Planning Review Price also include corrections by On My Own Financial if there are any errors in the documentation that was drafted by another Company? No. Because the documents were not created by On My Own Financial and likely have been signed and executed, any changes needed are not covered in the Estate Plan Review price. This is because documents must usually be amended or revoked to be modified and whether this can be done depends on the actual language of the document. In some cases, modifications are not allowed by the document. I will point out any errors or items you should be aware of, if I see any during the review. However, If On My Own Financial created the initial documents being reviewed, we offer all clients two years to make any changes (amendments) to documents to encourage clients to update their documents if they have any significant life changes, add new assets, or have a change of heart about a beneficiary. Outside of these two years, there is a fee for any changes. 2. Does the Estate Plan Review cost also include suggestions of what to add if the document is missing anything? Yes. The review will include explanations of key provisions to ensure you understand what they mean, and I will point out any errors I see that could lead to an issue. Sending the documents at least a week ahead of your scheduled appointment will ensure a thorough review and allow me time to ask you any additional background questions (via e-mail) for clarification before our meeting. If possible, I usually like type comments in the margins of your scanned estate plan (this can be shared with you during the call) so you can see all of my comments, suggestions, and recommendations. 3. If you have any questions after the meeting can you still ask questions? I highly recommend before the meeting you write down any questions you have so you can make sure we cover everything. Any questions sent after the meeting, if I can answer them quickly I will, if not we may need to schedule an "Ask Me Anything Session" (a link will be sent for booking & payment)
